Opportunities for young people in ÖйúPÕ¾ interested in arts careers
Do you know a young person who is interested in the arts? The Escalate Arts project is here to fuel their creativity with exciting initiatives, projects and events!
Escalate Arts Project
Based in Spelthorne, the Escalate Arts project is working hard to create opportunities, build meaningful community connections and spark creativity of young artists aged 11 to 24.
The project includes exciting workshops designed to challenge and inspire, like graffiti and street art, and wood burning (pyrography). Escalate Arts also organise trips to help young people explore future career options. Check out their fantastic upcoming projects this autumn and winter by visiting the Escalate Arts website. To get involved or find out more, contact culturalservices@surreycc.gov.uk.
Youth Collective
Project Youth Collective (YC), the Escalate Arts Youth Collective is open to anyone with a connection to Spelthorne between the ages of 11 and 24. Members will get involved in brainstorming new activities for the Library Hub Staines-upon –Thames and community programme. They will also help plan and deliver arts events, and take part in incredible trips to iconic venues, like the Victoria and Albert Museum and Pinewood Studios.
Members can be referred to become Associate Producers, an invaluable experience for anyone who is serious about a creative career. Associate Producers will gain experience in project development and arts advocacy, complete leadership training, and grow their portfolio before hitting the job market.
The group is always looking for new members!
The youth collective is currently working on a film festival that will have a celebration day in Staines Library on 11 October. This includes the showing of winning films, an awards ceremony, panel discussions, displays and more.
For more information on the film festival or to join the collective, email culturalservices@surreycc.gov.uk.
