Be aware of National Emergency Alerts test on 7 September
National Emergency Alerts Test – Sunday 7 September 3pm
At 3pm on Sunday 7 September, most mobile phones and tablets will make a loud siren-like sound, vibrate and an alert will be spoken out, even if a device is on silent, or the volume has been turned all the way down.
Don’t be alarmed – it’s a UK Government test of the Emergency Alerts system. Your mobile phone or tablet does not have to be connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi to get alerts.
If you have a phone hidden for safety, switch it off or use Airplane Mode before 3pm.
