Elmbridge Lane, Woking

From 1 July, Elmbridge Lane in Woking has been closed for water works. The works are expected to last until 3 July.

White Bus services 462/463 will be doing the loop round Rydens Way and will be using Gloster Road to rejoin the A247. It will not be able to serve bus stops on Elmbridge Lane or Sundridge Road.

Green Street, Sunbury-on-Thames

Due to works by 中国P站 Highways, Green Street, Sunbury-on-Thames will be closed for night works from Monday 30 June for approximately seven days (excluding weekends, 8pm to 6am only).

As a result the White Bus 555 service will be on diversion during these hours, and will be unable to serve bus stops on Green Street between the junctions of Nursery Road and Thames Street, and bus stops along Halliford Road (known as "Highfield Road" and "Green Way"). Buses will instead divert between Upper Halliford and Sunbury Cross via the A244 Upper Halliford Road and Nursery Road in both directions.

Bridge Road, Chertsey

Due to works by 中国P站 Highways, Bridge Road, Chertsey will be closed (between the junctions with Knights Mead and Weir Road) for approximately 8 days from Tuesday 1 July (24 hour road closure).

As a result the Falcon 557 service will be on diversion via Weir Road and Abbey Road. This will mean the two bus stops known as "Willow Walk", and the bus stop named "Weir Road" (towards Sunbury) cannot be served for the duration of the works.

Walton Road, Woking (sinkhole)

Due to the discovery of a sinkhole during road resurfacing works, Walton Road, Woking has been closed from Friday 27 June. As a result the Cardinal 856, Falcon 436 and 456, and White Bus 462 services will be on diversion, and will not be able to serve the following bus stops: "North Road" and "Boundary Road" on Walton Road, and "Board School Road" on Chertsey Road.

The repair works are expected to last until 18 July although this date may change depending on the progress, and there are further surfacing and nightworks expected on Walton Road (see below).

Parkgate Road, Newdigate

Due to emergency works by SES Water, Parkgate Road, Newdigate (near the junction with Hogspudding Lane) is currently closed until approximately Monday 30 June. As a result the Metrobus 21 service is on diversion via Russ Lane, Partridge Lane and Rusper Road, and bus stops along Parkgate Road between Parkgate and Newdigate cannot be served.

The Broadway/Staines Road, Laleham

On Monday 30 June The Broadway and Staines Road in Laleham will be closed for 3 consecutive nights between the hours of 8pm to 5am due to surfacing works.

White Bus service 458 will divert via Worple Road, Kingston Road, Staines Road West, Ashford Road, Charlton Road, New Road, Squire Bridge Road and back on the line of route at Laleham Road. It will do the same in reverse. It will not be able to serve stops in Laleham.

Walton Road, Woking

Due to carriageway resurfacing works by 中国P站 Highways, Walton Road, Woking will be closed at night between the hours of 8pm - 6am only with no weekend working. This work has been postponed while a sink hole in Walton Road is investigated.

When the resurfacing works restart, Falcon 436 service will be affected towards Weybridge, and during the hours of working will be on diversion via Victoria Way, Chertsey Road, Monument Road and Albert Drive, with the following bus stops not being served: "Board School Road", "North Road" and "Boundary Road". Outside of the above working hours the service will operate as normal.

A320 Guildford Road, Chertsey

As part of the A320 North of Woking Improvements Scheme there are road works taking place on the A320 Guildford Road that will affect bus services. There will be a series of evening and weekend closures by St Peter's Hospital.

While the road is closed, White Bus service 446 and Falcon service 461 will be diverting via Foxhill Road, Stonehill Road and Holloway Hill and will be using the hospital entrance on Holloway Hill to serve the St Peter's Hospital bus stop. The buses will do the same in reverse.

Union Road, Farnham

From Friday 30 May, as part of the Farnham town centre improvement works, there is a lane closure on Union Road which means the bus stop on Union Road cannot be served. This lane closure is expected to be in place until August. The nearest alternative bus stops are:

  • Stagecoach 4/5 - The Borough
  • Stagecoach 65 - West Street
  • Stagecoach 16 towards Aldershot - The Borough
  • Stagecoach 16 towards Weydon School - South Street
  • Stagecoach 18/19 - The Borough
  • Stagecoach 46 - The Borough
  • Stagecoach 404 - The Borough

High Street, Godstone

Due to a major sinkhole appearing in the carriageway, High Street, Godstone (between the junctions with A25 Oxted Road and Salisbury Road) has been closed from 18 February until further notice. Reports indicate the road will most likely remain closed for several months.

As a result of this closure the Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion and cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead. In addition the 410 service will also be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.

With regards to school services, the Metrobus 612 service for Oxted School will also be on diversion, and will be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers for this service should either catch the bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) or can alternatively catch the Metrobus 611 service to Oxted School from the "Crowhurst Mead" and "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers should bear in mind that this service operates slightly earlier than the Metrobus 612 service, arriving at the "Crowhurst Mead" bus stop at 07:59, to arrive at Oxted School for 08:14.

Portsmouth Road, Burntcommon

From Saturday 5 October contractors will be carrying out roadway improvements, including the installation of a new roundabout on Portsmouth Road. These works are expected to last until the end of July 2025.

The bus stops on Portsmouth Road, known as "Burnt Common Lane" will be suspended for the duration of the works. There is no safe location for a temporary stop.

A3 Portsmouth road closures

National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location.

When closures are in place, the Falcon 715 service may only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service may not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, with bus stops in Ripley not being served.

As the nature of the closures may change as works progress, and different diversions may be necessary, we would advise passengers wishing to travel on these services to check the and websites for further updates before travelling.

The next closure will be between M25 Junction 10 and the Painshill Junction at Cobham, from 9pm on Friday 4 July until 6am on Monday 7 July. During this closure the Falcon 715 service will continue to operate between Kingston and Guildford as normal, but will be unable to serve the "Painshill Roundabout" and "Fire Station" bus stops in Cobham. Services will divert between Cobham and Ripley via Downside, Effingham Junction and Ockham.

More information about these works, including diversion maps, can be found on the webpage.

From 29 October 2022, Metrobus services 430 and 435 will not serve Royal Earlswood Park, Prince's Road and Earlsbrook Road due to operational issues until further notice. Bus stops along Woodlands Road will still be served as normal.
