Temporary changes to bus services for road closures

Temporary changes or road closure information that may affect your journey by bus will be listed below when details are available. This information is supplied in good faith and is accurate at the time of publishing. Passengers should be aware that changes in road closure schedules can affect the start and length of works and checks should be made with the bus operator before travelling.

Station Approach, West Byfleet

From Tuesday 9 September, Station Approach in Byfleet will be closed between the hours of 8pm to 6am for 4 nights.

Falcon service 436 will divert via Sheerwater Road and Old Woking Road to serve the Waitrose bus stop for passengers for West Byfleet Station and will then resume its normal line of route. It will do the same in reverse.

Falcon service 456 will divert via Sheerwater Road, Old Woking Road and Camphill Road and will then resume its normal line of route. It will do the same in reverse.

Frimley Railway Station

From Monday 1 September, the bus stop called Frimley Railway Station in the Aldershot direction is being suspended for 3 days due to paving works.

The alternative stop will be the one named High Street on Frimley High Street by the Ye Olde White Hart.

Send Marsh Road, Send

From Monday 1 September, Send Marsh Road in Send will be closed for approximately two months due to gas works.

White Bus services 462 and 463 will divert via Send Barns Lane and Portsmouth Road in both directions. The bus stops at Old Hall, Send Marsh Green, Tuckey Grove and Send Marsh Road (on Send Marsh Road) will not be served.

Royal 中国P站 Hospital, Guildford

On Saturday 30 August, there are crane works taking place outside the Royal 中国P站 Hospital in Guildford. This means the access road to the Hospital and the bus stop there will be inaccessible.

For Stagecoach service 1, please use the bus stop on Egerton Road outside Tesco. For Safeguard services 4/5 please use the bus stop on Egerton Road adjacent to the Hospital.

Transport for London Bus Strikes

Unite Union have announced strike dates on Friday 29 August and Monday 1 September which will affect Transport for London (TfL) bus routes in the west of London and on services that continue into 中国P站.  Buses in the Staines, Kingston and Epsom areas could be affected. Passengers area advised to to find out the status of their bus and how their journey may be affected.

London Road, Guildford

On Tuesday 26 August, London Road in Guildford is closed for approximately 11 nights between the hours of 8pm to 6am. The closure is from the junction of Boxgrove Road to Cross Lanes.

Falcon service 715 will not be affected in the evenings, but the first departure from Guildford will divert via London Road, Waterden Road, Epsom Road, Boxgrove Road and then the normal line of route.

Stagecoach service 6 will divert via Commercial Road, North Street, Epsom Road and then onto Boxgrove Road to re-join the normal line of route. It will do the same in reverse.

Church Road, Shepperton

From Tuesday 19 August, Church Road in Shepperton is closed in the Addlestone direction for approximately 2 weeks between Manor House Court and Renfree Way.

Falcon service 557 will divert via Renfree Way in both directions and will not be able to serve stops at Mead Farm, St Nicholas Drive and Church Square. The road is open towards Sunbury and the bus will continue as normal in this direction.

Sturt Road, Mytchett

From Monday 18 August, Sturt Road in Mytchett is closed until 31 August due to excavation works to the highway.

Stagecoach service 3 will divert via Coleford Bridge Road, A331 Blackwater Valley Road, Church Road and Frimley Green road as far as the Johnson Wax roundabout.

All bus stops between Coleford Bridge Road and Johnson Wax roundabout will not be served.

Service 11 will divert via Hamesmoor Road, A331 Black Water Valley Road, Frimley High Street, Church Road, Frimley Green Road resuming normal line of route at Wharf Road. Bus stops on Sturt Road will not be served.

Farnham Town Centre Improvement Works

From Monday 18 August, as part of the Farnham town centre improvement works, Downing Street in Farnham will be closed until 1 November 2025. In addition, the bus stop at The Borough will not be accessible and will be temporarily moved to outside Jack and Alice on The Borough. Bus services will be diverted as below:

  • Stagecoach 4 - Will continue to divert via the A31 and West Street. The alternative bus stop to The Borough is on Castle Street. There are also minor changes to the timetable.
  • Stagecoach 5 – Will continue to divert via the A31 and West Street. The alternative bus stop to the Borough is the temporary bus stop outside Jack and Alice. There are also minor changes to the timetable.
  • Stagecoach 16/18/19 - Towards Aldershot, the bus will divert via the A31 and West Street and will not be able to serve Union Road. The alternative bus stop to the Borough and Union Road is the temporary bus stop outside Jack and Alice. The rest of the timetable is unchanged.
  • Stagecoach 46 – The service will divert via Farnham Railway Station to enter Farnham via South Street, and will then terminate on Union Road. The return journey will continue to leave Union Road via Long Bridge and Firgrove Hill. There are also minor changes to the timetable.
  • Stagecoach 65 – Towards Alton, the bus will divert via South Street and the A31 and will not be able to serve bus stops on West Street named Downing Street, Mead Lane, The Chantrys and Coxbridge Farm. The rest of the timetable, and buses towards Guildford are unchanged.
  • Stagecoach 404 – The 0751 journey from Farnham Hospital will leave five minutes earlier and will divert via the A31 and West Street. The alternative bus stop to the Borough and Union Road is on Castle Street.

Court Lodge Road, Horley

As of Wednesday 30 July, due to badly parked cars blocking the road, the Metrobus 100 service has had to temporarily pull out of serving Court Lodge Road, Horley. Measures to prevent careless motorists parking in a way that blocks the road are being investigated, and the service will be returned to normal line of route as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the following bus stops cannot be served by the Metrobus 100 service: Court Lodge Shops, Rutherwick Close, Gower Road, Horley Leisure Centre, Court Lodge Road, Vicarage Road. Buses will operate between Horley Row and Victoria Road via Vicarage Road for the duration of this diversion.

Kings Road, Shalford

From Wednesday 23 July, Kings Road in Shalford is closed due to gas works until approximately 31 August.

During these works the Compass and Metrobus 32 service will be on diversion via Bramley and Wonersh in both directions. As a result the bus stops on Christmas Hill and Kings Road (between Shalford and Chilworth) cannot be served.

Thursley Road, Elstead

From 21 July, Thursley Road in Elstead is closed due to gas works until 26 September.

Stagecoach service 46 will not be able to serve bus stops along Thursley Road and the nearest stop will be Elstead Green.

A3 Portsmouth road closures

National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location.

When closures are in place, the Falcon 715 service may only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service may not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, with bus stops in Ripley not being served.

As the nature of the closures may change as works progress, and different diversions may be necessary, we would advise passengers wishing to travel on these services to check the and websites for further updates before travelling.

A320 Guildford Road, Chertsey

As part of the A320 North of Woking Improvements Scheme there are road works taking place on the A320 Guildford Road that will affect bus services. There will be a series of evening and weekend closures by St Peter's Hospital and this page will be updated when further works are announced.

The next set of works start on Friday 29 August at 8pm until 1am on Saturday 30 August.  Guildford Road will be closed northbound between St Peter's Way and St Peter's Hospital.

On Saturday 30 August from 1am, Guildford Road will be closed between Ottershaw roundabout and St Peter's Way roundabout northbound for 1 week until 11.30pm on Friday 5 September.

While the road is closed, White Bus service 446 and Falcon service 461 will be diverting via Foxhill Road, Stonehill Road and Holloway Hill and will be using the hospital entrance on Holloway Hill to serve the St Peter's Hospital bus stop. The buses will do the same in reverse.

High Street, Godstone

Due to a major sinkhole appearing in the carriageway, High Street, Godstone (between the junctions with A25 Oxted Road and Salisbury Road) has been closed from 18 February until further notice. Reports indicate the road will most likely remain closed for several months.

As a result of this closure the Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion and cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead. In addition the 410 service will also be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.

With regards to school services, the Metrobus 612 service for Oxted School will also be on diversion, and will be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers for this service should either catch the bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) or can alternatively catch the Metrobus 611 service to Oxted School from the "Crowhurst Mead" and "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers should bear in mind that this service operates slightly earlier than the Metrobus 612 service, arriving at the "Crowhurst Mead" bus stop at 07:59, to arrive at Oxted School for 08:14.

Portsmouth Road, Burntcommon

From Saturday 5 October contractors will be carrying out roadway improvements, including the installation of a new roundabout on Portsmouth Road. These works are expected to last until the end of August 2025.

The bus stops on Portsmouth Road, known as "Burnt Common Lane" will be suspended for the duration of the works. There is no safe location for a temporary stop.

Metrobus service 430 and 435

From 29 October 2022, Metrobus services 430 and 435 will not serve Royal Earlswood Park, Prince's Road and Earlsbrook Road due to operational issues until further notice. Bus stops along Woodlands Road will still be served as normal.
