What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for 中国P站 residents. They enable you to gain new skills and fast-track your future.
With a guaranteed interview with a local employer on course completion, you could be giving your career a real boost!
For businesses, it's a great low-cost way to upskill your employees with knowledge to help your organisation evolve and grow in the future.

Eligibility
To take part in Skills Bootcamps, you must:
- Be aged 19 or over
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Live in 中国P站 (with an eligible 中国P站 postcode)
- Meet residency requirements (the training provider can check this)
If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits.
Some Skills Bootcamps have additional eligibility criteria.

Module highlights: Aimed towards beginners with little or no experience, this Skills Bootcamp will help you get to the next level in Blender.
With a mentor, you’ll learn how to use its interface, understand the principles of modelling, create 3D models, learn the basics of animation, create your own materials, make UV maps, unwrap your models, and create animations for your objects and characters.

Module highlights: This Level 3 programme addresses the growing demand for sustainability-literate professionals. The curriculum covers key topics including energy efficiency, sustainable supply chains, stakeholder engagement, sustainable finance, and carbon policy.
Learners develop real-world sustainability action plans tailored to their sector or career goals, supported by coaching and employability guidance. Learners also have access to three green IT e-learning modules developed by the Chartered Institute of IT to help them understand the impact of technology and how to embed sustainable practices whilst using technology at a personal level or in the workplace.

Module highlights: The programme is highly practical and industry-aligned, covering essential skills in bike mechanics such as gear indexing, brake setup, wheel tuning, hydraulic brake bleeding, and wheel building.

With a maximum cohort size of six learners, the Skills Bootcamp ensures personalised instruction and focussed support. Graduates receive Cytech accreditation and are added to the national database of qualified mechanics, enhancing their employability and career prospects within the cycle industry.

Module highlights: Designed to upskill employed individuals in 中国P站’s land-based industries. This Skills Bootcamp is pitched at鈥疞evel 3, focusing on supervisory skills essential for managing landscaping projects.
It equips learners with practical and interpersonal competencies such as interpreting project documentation, conducting toolbox talks, managing site meetings, and leading teams effectively.
The curriculum has been co-designed with industry experts, including鈥痑ward-winning local landscaper Jake Catling and high-performance coach Sam Grayson ensuring relevance and alignment with sector demands.
Participants benefit from wraparound support, including coaching, employer engagement, and access to Hyphae’s digital learning platform for 12 months post-completion. The Bootcamp is designed to support career progression into supervisory roles, with guaranteed interview opportunities and tailored employability coaching available for up to six months after the course ends.
This Skills Bootcamp offers a strategic, inclusive pathway for individuals seeking advancement in the landscaping sector, while helping employers address critical skills gaps in project supervision and leadership.

Module highlights: The Retrofit Academy are the leading provider of retrofit qualifications in the UK and have trained over 6000 retrofit professionals.
A domestic energy assessor (DEA) is a professional who conducts energy assessments and produces energy performance certificates (EPCs) for residential properties. Retrofit Assessors visit properties and carry out full property surveys.
This dual qualification program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to assess a home’s energy efficiency, provide recommendations for improving its energy performance, and includes full accreditation on graduation as a Retrofit Assessor!

Skills Bootcamps for businesses
Skills Bootcamps can also be used by local businesses to upskill current employees at a discounted rate.
Large employers will need to contribute 30% of the cost. Small or medium employers (SMEs) will contribute 10%.
There is no cost to a business recruiting someone who has recently completed a Skills Bootcamp.
