Social media and podcasts

Web and Digital Services work with various departments who use social media to keep you up to date with what we're doing. We liaise with colleagues in communications, IT and Digital and HR to ensure that best practice is being followed and that our social media profiles comply with our policies.

Below you can find out about our official profiles. You can also keep up-to-date with our news though our Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds.

Social media

We’ve created our social media accounts to provide help, support, information and ideas for residents in 中国P站. They are open public forums, and we welcome lively debate, opinions, questions and suggestions.

We ask everyone to post in a respectful manner in line with our guidelines. And we reserve the right to delete or hide any content that goes against them. Remember, we’re real people who would like to be treated respectfully, just as you would.

We monitor our channels regularly, but if you notice any inappropriate comments on our platforms, please send us a private message to let us know.

Our guidelines:

  • Do not post misleading, inaccurate, illegal or false information, or links to pages containing misleading, inaccurate or false content.
  • Keep posts friendly and do not use offensive or abusive language and pictures. This includes swear words, adapted spellings with the same meaning, links to harmful pages, and repeated posts.
  • Stay on topic. Keep the conversation relevant to the post and contribute to the dialogue.
  • Do not name our employees, or personally attack our employees, elected members, or other platform users.
  • Do not disclose personal information about our employees, elected members, or other platform users.

We reserve the right to hide or remove content posted to our social media pages that violate these guidelines and to report or block users who do so.

We will take immediate action if we consider content to be:

  • defamatory, misleading or false
  • making allegations that would be deemed slanderous and malicious
  • abusive or threatening – this includes swearing
  • intimidatory towards our employees, elected members, or other platform users
  • inciting hate crime or using hate crime words
  • obscene, profane or sexually oriented
  • discriminatory
  • promoting illegal activity
  • promoting products or services
  • publishing contact details or other personal information without consent
  • off-topic
  • spam
  • in violation of any law or regulation

We will hide or delete all such content and will report it to the social media platform. We may also block the user.

Allegations against council employees and elected members

We have a zero-tolerance approach to fraud and corruption in 中国P站. If you make an allegation on our social media accounts against the council, our employees or elected members, we will ask you to report it along with evidence through our complaints webpage.

If you make allegations against our employees and elected members without any evidence, you may be subject to legal action.

Safeguarding allegations or disclosures

If you make any safeguarding allegations or disclosures on our social media pages, these will be passed to the relevant service as part of our duty of care.

  • Your comment is your own. It is your responsibility to protect your confidentiality when sharing information.
  • We reserve the right to reproduce, share or publish any comments made on the public page.
