Join the growing network of 中国P站’s parishes and towns implementing nature and climate plans to futureproof their local areas
We have been working alongside several parishes to co-create nature and climate action plans to support 中国P站’s tier 3 local authorities and Neighbourhood Forums. Our resources include guides, plans, and practical steps to help you develop your own strategies, build resilience, and protect nature.

Why is this important?
中国P站 is home to a host of rare and beautiful sites and habitats, with our parishes home to many of these features, from ancient woodland and bluebell woods to the national landscape and rare chalk grasslands. At a time when our local wildlife and habitats face so many threats, partnership and collaboration are key to protect the places, landscapes and communities that make 中国P站 so special.
Extreme weather events that cause flooding, rail closures which put more pressure on roads, high temperatures and nature loss will only increase as climate change accelerates, and mitigation and adaptation measures are urgent to help protect people, livelihoods, and infrastructure from these adverse impacts.
Developing key partnerships is particularly pressing as 中国P站 begins to undergo local government restructuring. With our Parishes often acting as the heart of our communities, the Greener Futures team sees the role of parishes, towns, and neighbourhoods as key to local decision making, promoting participation, fostering community spirit, and ensuring that local needs are met. By working with us to develop nature and climate plans for your parish or town, you can lead the way in creating sustainable and resilient communities.
Building plans
An action plan is not only a great way to showcase the work you have already done, but can also inspire others to follow your leadership, demonstrate the positive impact of your initiatives, and help to identify gaps in your strategy, By developing and implementing these plans, you can create a roadmap for future actions, ensuring continued progress and resilience.
These plans cover all relevant areas you might need help with when working towards climate change, including 中国P站-based resources for energy, nature, transport, as well as engagement planning and help with mapping nature interventions and measuring local emissions. The plans can be adapted to suit you regardless of where you’re in your planning.
Protecting nature
Protecting nature in your local area is crucial for maintaining and improving biodiversity. This can be achieved through monitoring wildlife, conducting surveys, and restoring habitats. These activities help identify areas needing attention and implement strategies to preserve natural resources. Crucially, these plans can also help you to measure Biodiversity Duty, which although is not a statutory requirement for parishes, we are strongly encouraging 中国P站’s tier 3s to report on so that we can create a single joined up picture of the state of nature in 中国P站.
What support is available?
Support is available from the Greener Futures team, and we are developing a peer-to-peer forum where you can chat, troubleshoot, access materials, and find out more about climate action from other parishes who are dealing with – or have already solved – the same challenges you’re facing. This forum will provide a platform for sharing experiences, solutions, and resources, helping you to effectively implement your action plans.
