Course intent

Develop your communication skills and increase your confidence through taking part in a variety of games, including designing and developing characters to use in role play:

What will we cover?

During this course, you will have the opportunity to:

Create, design, and develop role-play characters as part of a group.

Use critical thinking and creativity to help with personal and social development.

Make choices, use your judgment, and work as a team to go on "adventures" in a fictional world where you decide what happens next.

Develop decision-making, problem-solving, speaking, listening, and social skills through group work and interaction with others.

Build confidence in using vocal skills and learn basic storytelling and map-making techniques.

Improve your numeracy and literacy by following instructions, using rules, and playing games with dice.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for Entry Level learners with a learning disability, it is designed to help learners progress from their individual starting point to build confidence, independence, and social skills for everyday life.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Bring a pen and reading glasses if you use them.

What can I do when I finish the course?

After this course you could progress to another supported learning course, or further courses with ÖйúPÕ¾ Adult Learning. We will meet with you to give information, advice, and guidance on your next step.

Additional information

Bring a drink or money to buy refreshments during a short break.

Carers and/or family members supporting in the class will be required to follow our guidelines and acknowledge they have read our Personal Assistant Agreement.
