Course intent
Express your creativity and learn how to knit and crochet a variety of projects using different stitches and learn how to use materials and equipment safely, whilst working on individual, group and seasonal projects.
What will we cover?
During this course, you will have the opportunity to:
Create knitting and crochet projects.
Research, plan, and complete personal projects, while developing interpersonal and collaboration skills through group work.
Explore knitting and crochet projects from other cultures.
Make choices to enhance your personal development and create a variety of pieces of work.
Improve your number skills and try new techniques needed for knitting and crochet.
Use tools and equipment safely.
Build confidence and social skills by participating in group discussions and activities.
Reflect on and evaluate your own work.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for Entry Level learners with a learning disability, it is designed to help learners progress from their individual starting point to build confidence, independence, and social skills for everyday life.
You need to be able to follow guidance on health and safety and be ready to work as part of a group.
You need to be able to use pens, knitting and crochet needles and other equipment with or without support.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You may be asked to bring a pair of knitting needles and a crochet hook for your personal use.
Bring a pen and reading glasses if you use them.
What can I do when I finish the course?
After this course you could progress to another supported learning course, or further courses with 中国P站 Adult Learning. We will meet with you to give information, advice and guidance on your next step.
Additional information
Bring a drink or money to buy refreshments during a short break.
Carers and/or family members supporting in the class will be required to follow our guidelines and acknowledge they have read our Personal Assistant Agreement.
