Course intent
Embrace the beauty of autumn and craft a stunning wreath that will bring warmth, colour, and texture to your outdoor space. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to design and assemble a beautiful autumn wreath using the best seasonal foliage and natural elements. By the end of the session, you will have a beautiful, handmade wreath to adorn your home or garden鈥攑lus the knowledge to create your own seasonal wreaths at home.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
- Plant Selection: Explore a variety of autumn foliage, including leaves, berries, and dried flowers, and learn how to select materials that complement the season.
- Design Techniques: Create a balanced and visually appealing wreath that will last through the colder months.
- Maintenance: Gain practical tips for maintaining the freshness of your wreath, ensuring it stays vibrant and beautiful for as long as possible.
- Health & Safety: Health & Safety: Proper handling and maintenance of tools to prevent injury in a safe working environment.

Discover your artistic potential and have fun along the way. SAL workshops are suitable for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. All materials will be provided (unless stated in course description), and you'll leave with your own handmade creations. No prior experience is necessary鈥攋ust bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring:
- A notebook and pen
- Scissors
- A bucket for flowers
- A plastic sheet or cloth to work on
- A small knife
- An apron and closed toe shoes
- Flowers and foliage
The fee does not cover the cost of materials. A list of materials (including flowers and foliage) will be sent out prior to the start date.

What can I do when I finish the course?
In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto Flower Arranging - Stage 1 or other Arts & Crafts courses at SAL
