Course intent
Create beautiful autumn floral designs for your home or for an autumnal gathering, whilst gaining the knowledge and skills needed to make beautiful designs that last. You will learn useful tips on flower care and feel confident to make further arrangements and bouquets at home.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
How to use colour and contrast in your design
How to introduce texture to your arrangement
Useful tips on how to select the correct materials
Tips on how to care for your flowers and foliage to make your display last longer
How to use tools and equipment safely
The importance of working in a safe, clean and tidy environment
Also see how easy it can be to add additional materials to enhance your floral arrangement.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for all levels and abilities.
No previous experience is necessary. It is suitable to both beginners and for those wishing to refine their technique and design skills in a friendly, soothing, focused class.
All our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you any concerns about your level of English.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to bring:
Scissors, small knife, secateurs
Bucket for your flowers
Plastic sheet or cloth to work on
notebook and pen
Box or container to take home your finished designs
Closed toe shoes are advised
An apron (optional)
You will need to provide your own flowers, leaves, materials and any other embellishments, as per the materials list which will be sent out the week before this workshop.

What can I do when I finish the course?
Your tutor, Lynn Sleet offers a longer Tuesday evening Flower Arranging Stage 1 class for beginners in Guildford as well as a longer course in Camberley. Lynn also runs Saturday workshops at both centres. You can also try a longer flower arranging course if you have some experience of flower arranging, and so are a Stage 2, on a Wednesday with tutor Lesley Prendergast in either Woking or Guildford
